Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain ML models for recommendation engines and vector search for product similarity matching.
• Integrate and fine-tune open-source LLMs (e.g., Llama, Mistral etc) for chat experiences and reasoning tasks, such as generating personalized product comparisons or query responses.
• Develop MLOps pipelines for model training, inference, monitoring, and retraining, using tools like MLflow and integrating with Airflow for data workflows.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code in Python and Golang, adhering to software best practices including testing, documentation, and integration with backend services via APIs.
• Optimize models for web and mobile eCommerce scale, ensuring efficient inference on edge devices or cloud, and collaborate with Data Engineers on data pipelines.
• Conduct A/B testing and performance analysis to iterate on AI features, focusing on metrics like user engagement and conversion rates.
• Ensure ethical AI deployment, including bias mitigation in recommendations and privacy in user data handling.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience as an ML Engineer, with expertise in deploying AI models in production environments.
• Strong software development skills, including Python, Golang, and frameworks like PyTorch or Hugging Face; proficiency in clean code, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with vector databases (e.g., Qdrant), MLOps tools, and orchestration (e.g., Nomad, Airflow).
• Knowledge of NLP and LLMs for tasks like chat and reasoning.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Ability to thrive in an office-based team in Le Marais, Paris, with strong communication skills in English and French.

Nice-to-Haves

• Background in eCommerce or content/media based recommendation systems.
• Experience with React Native integrations for mobile AI features.
• Open-source contributions in ML or LLM projects.
