As a Senior Data Scientist with 5-7 years of experience, you'll drive the innovation behind our AI engines, designing algorithms for recommendations, vector search, and LLM applications. You'll apply strong software development principles to create robust, testable code that powers data-driven insights and models, working within our tech ecosystem of Python, Scikit-learn, Qdrant, and integrations with Golang and Airflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and experiment with ML algorithms for recommendation engines, incorporating vector embeddings in Qdrant for personalized product suggestions based on user behavior and interests.
  • Design NLP and reasoning models using open-source LLMs (e.g., Llama, Mistral) for chat-based discovery, such as handling complex queries or generating insightful responses like product comparisons.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), feature engineering, and A/B testing to optimize AI features.
  • Write high-standard, production-grade code in Python, ensuring modularity, efficiency, and integration with backend systems via Golang APIs.
  • Collaborate with ML Engineers and Data Engineers to translate prototypes into scalable solutions, using tools like Jupyter for experimentation and Airflow for data orchestration.
  • Analyze model performance, identify biases, and implement ethical safeguards in AI systems.
  • Stay updated on AI advancements and contribute to squad discussions on feature roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on building AI models for recommendations, search, or NLP.
  • Exceptional software development abilities, including Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn, NumPy), with emphasis on clean, documented code and best practices like unit testing and version control.
  • Expertise in statistics, ML algorithms, and tools for vector search (e.g., Qdrant) and LLMs.
  • Experience with data visualization and experimentation frameworks.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working in-person at our Le Marais office in Paris, with strong communication skills in English and French.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Domain knowledge in books, media, or personalized content systems.
  • Familiarity with Golang or mobile app data integrations.
  • Publications or projects in NLP/LLMs.
